I have been sick off and on, and when it's on it's way on since last December. In general, I've always pretty sick in the cold months (hence my desire to live someplace warmer - at least during the cold months). This past year has been extraordinarily bad. I have been to doctors and given antibiotics. Those seemed to take care of it a lot, but there was always this nagging post nasal drip that never went away. This week I went back to a doctor and she is trying me on some allergy medicine and other things to help with the symptoms/avoid further infection. This allergy med makes me tired and just feel a little numb, I also feel all dried out. If I do have allergies, do I have to take this everyday for the rest of my life??? I have to believe there is a better way. A better diet? Some herbal remedies? I do not want to feel these side effects for the rest of my life. I'd rather do anything naturally if possible as opposed to taking a pill.
It is going to be a busy day, I have to clean up the house for our church small group and I'm going to work with Ella on a math readiness book I bought. She's so smart and LOVES to learn. I just have to take time to do this for her. Laundry is piling up too.
Sorry this is a bit of a downer post. I'm sure I'll have more fun and positive things to post about, but not sure if I'll get around to it today.
Have a great day and thank God for the good health we all DO have!

There has to be a better way

I certainly hope that the cause of your illness is found soon and something works to help you feel better. Everyone has bad days as well as good days--part of life's balance, I think. Anyway, I appreciate your trust in sharing your bad day with us.
How awful to feel rotten all the time!! My sinuses are a wreck in the fall and winter and I learned to do nasal irrigation. It helps rinse everything and keeps me from getting strep and tonsillitis.
hoping you'll feel better soon.
what's your small group like?
found you through my forum thread in etsy. thanks for posting! :-)
Hi Kristi, I came over because of the sweet comment you left on my post the other day. You are so encouraging, thank you!
Now...allergies...they have put me through a lot in the last few years. They got so bad that I'm currently taking allergy shots. But let me back up. I started on Benadryl, but it knocked me out. Then I tried Claritin, but I didn't sleep well. The I took 1 Allegra and was awake for 24 hours. Zyrtec made me incredibly sleepy. I think that's when the Dr. finally got me on the pill I'm on now: Rescon. So I hope you are able to find one that works for you, because there are lots of options.
2ndly, I hated the idea of taking a pill for the rest of my life. I have NEVER been a pill-taker. I'd rather suffer than drug myself, you know. But then our whole family got a bug and everyone else got better in a few days and I was still dragging around 2 weeks later. That's when I realized I needed to take the drugs.
Goodness, I could write a book here! I'm happy to chat about the allergy journey I've been on. Not the most exciting, I'll warn you...
