Balance, Prioreties and Individual Threshold

I think I've been doing too much lately, and not enough of the more important things. And I am realizing that I can't do it ALL.

What I want to do that I think is most important (that has waned):

  • Exercising
  • Planning and Preparing healthy meals for my family and myself
  • Spending time with family in the evenings
  • Tidying and organizing the house
What I want to do that I think is acceptable (that I am doing):
  • Reading
  • Volunteering for one organization
  • Some sewing
What I want to do that I feel I'm may have to give up/lessen:
  • Teaching dance one evening (teach morning class)
  • Sewing non-stop until project is completed with few breaks (sew when I have time and not obsess about completing one project)
  • blogging (less)
Though I wish I could do it all, in reality I don't think I'm physically capable. I think this is why I sometimes get sick. That was definitely the case when I was working full time. I would always want to do more than was required and was often getting sick.

This morning I woke up with a UTI. At least I'm pretty sure. I think it is another sign to slow down.

As I've slowed down a bit this week I've enjoyed sitting and reading, structuring the kids' days a little more, tidying and organizing the house and enjoying the result, exercising more, planning meals a little better, enjoying not just the kids, but the cats more.

Hopefully I'll get this life balance thing down right.

Balance is SO hard...mostly because I think moms tend to put themselves down LAST and that should not be how it is! I hope you can get things all worked out for you. :) Loves to you friend! xoxo

When your raising children it is always so hard to balance everything out. Trying to get everything done to the point that it is affecting your health, it's just not worth it. Slow down, take a breath, look around you and be very grateful for the people in your life. A very wise women always said: "Every thing always has a way of working out." That women was my mother-in-law and she was right. She isn't with us anymore but that saying has always stayed with me.

Kristi, I know exactly where you are coming from with the Tote Bag Blues. Cute photo BTW. I too have questioned whether or not to remove my custom order journals. They take so much time to create and always have a deadline. If I only sold the things that were ready made that I create at whim, I think I would be much happier.
I have taken extended breaks and posted in my shop announcement when I planned to list again.
It sounds like you have your priorities in order.
Good luck to you. Your etsy shop is full of really pretty items. Very cheery.
